American glass minnow traps have been around since the 1890s, when the
C.F. Orvis company started selling them. Shakespeare and Hawco traps appeared
in the early 1900s, and many traps were made in the 30s, 40s, and 50s by
Johnson Glass company, makers of the Camp, Joy, and Jumbo traps. There
are three companies selling glass traps today: The Stream and Lake tackle
company, Kirby Minnow Traps, and River's Edge Products. River's Edge does
not sell direct, so you'll have to find a dealer if you want one. Contact
us, we may have extras. This is a list of the glass traps in our collection.
Enjoy the pictures. (A quick list is at the top if you don't want to wait
for the thumbnails to load.)
